This works--I had no problem transferring some video in a test from my camcorder to my Mac. I can't say anything for its durability because I haven't had it for very long, nor have I used it much in the short time that I've had it.
The advert was for a Phoenix Gold IEEE-1394 4-Pin/6-Pin FireWire Cable (2 Meters). What I received was a Regular IEEE-1394 4-Pin/6-Pin FireWire Cable which I could have purchased for $2.99 (canadian) at my local electronic store. The price I paid was $1.99 for the wire and $5.00 shipping.
When ordering from BargainCell you get the black cable in the second picture, not the clear one. Overall this performs well and the build quality is solid. With casual use this will last forever. If you need a cable like this then this is a great bargain for a dying standard.
The cable we received is black with silver-colored-metal connections and the quality seems fairly similar to those found in stores. No problems at all with delivery or product. Upon plugging it in, our computer - running Windows XP - recognized the cable immediately, automatically accessed the drivers, etc., and we were able to start uploading video right away. At this price, are we kidding. would definitely recommend to anyone. Unbelievable deal, even more so considering the prices on some quite similar cables in stores.
I ordered 2 of these because my co-worker and I needed longer cables for our printers. They arrived quickly and work great. The price is right -- no need to pay more.
